The Outreach Ministry Team's goal is to make a difference in our surrounding community by helping in several difference areas where needs have been identified.
We sponsor three different schools in our area Freedom Middle School, Freedom High School and Cypress Creek High School.   We work with coordinators at the schools in supplying items for their food pantries which include non-perishables, toiletries and other items as requested.   They serve several homeless families and families in temporary housing.   We also sponsored the end of school awards ceremony for Freedom Middle School.  We make shopping trips and deliveries approximately three times a year.   The congregation of All Saints also bring donations of items for the schools throughout the year.  We receive help with funding these donations from grant from Thrivent Financial for Lutherans.
We also make donations to the food pantry for Osceola Council on Ageing throughout the year.   The committee sponsors the annual Miss a Meal Program which encourages the congregation to put spare change in a box throughout the Lenten season and bring back to church at Easter.   The program enabled us to send a check for $400 to the Council this spring.  The Congregation also brings in non-perishable food throughout the year which is collected and delivered to the Council.
In July, we begin collecting school supplies in order to fill backpacks for students in need for the beginning of the school year.  The backpacks are donated and we will collect donations from congregation and supplement the supplies with a grant from Thrivent.   They will be delivered to various locations for distribution.
In September, we will begin advertising for the October "Blessing of the Animals" and the pet food drive.   A member of congregation and Thrivent as expressed interest in applying for Thrivent grant to supplement pet food drive.
In October, we will distribute boxes for the Project 5000 project.   The boxes include a list of non-perishable foods that is designed to feed a family of 4 for two days.   Each family is asked to take home a box and fill and return to church.
The end of November, we will put up Christmas Angel Tree and encourage congregation to take a gift suggestion from tree to provide a gift for a needy child.
During the year, many requests may come before the Council and we try to honor as many as we can.
We also sponsor a Spirit Night, thanks to the generosity of Azteca Restaurant every other month.   These have been well attended and usually result in a generous check fully supports the All Saints outreach community programs, based on a percentage of the checks.  You do not need to be an All Saints member to be able to support these missions.
